East Baton Rouge Parish Library to reopen Wednesday, August 17 from 10 am to 6 pm.
The Main Library at Goodwood and all branches except Greenwell Springs Road Regional have expanded operational hours from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm beginning August 22 with exception of River Center Branch which will close at 7:00 pm. We will follow this schedule of hours through Saturday and open Sunday 2 to 6 pm.
All normal services have resumed except for Outreach Services which is redeploying to shelters and centers instead of their usual bookmobile visits.
Water damage was minimal throughout the system except for the Greenwell Springs Regional Branch. Staff were able to get inside last Tuesday August 16 and as expected, found wet carpet, furniture and books up past the bottom shelf—end caps seemed to show a water line of about one foot. Carpet is now being removed and staff expect to begin the process to note and discard wet materials this coming Tuesday August 23.
While GSR remains closed, the National Guard is using the parking lot and school supplies were distributed from the parking lot
