Plaquemines Parish Library
A mandatory evacuation has been issued for July 11, 2019 starting at 6 a.m. for the Eastbank of Plaquemines Parish and from Oakville to Venice on the Westbank until further notice.
Library employees who reside in the mandatory evacuation areas are not required to report to work until the mandatory evacuation is lifted.
Buras and Port Sulphur Branch Libraries will be closed tomorrow as they are in the mandatory areas.
Also our Summer Reading Program at Davant on the Eastbank of our parish has been cancelled.
Belle Chasse Library will be open and staffed by a very skeletal crew Thursday 8:30am until 7pm and Friday 8:30am until 5pm unless things change, which is very possible.
On Thursday I will be manning our Admin offices from 8:30-5pm and working at the library from 5-7pm, and on Friday I will be in between both office and library..
I will update as I can if and when our circumstances change.
